About the event
Amorphous Folk Collective - Songs from now and then
We are a collective of music, dance, and theatre artists who first got together in early 2020 to sing and make music together. We primarily sing folk music from places where we have ancestry and connection, including Canada, Ireland, Scotland, England, France and Sweden. In 2022 we named our group The Amorphous Folk Collective. The name felt fitting as the size of our group expands and contracts with different projects and we're interested in the fluid form of collective music making, storytelling and performance.
Amorphous members joining for the performance at the Yellowhouse: Bevan Bartlett, Dylan Brown, Natalie Davidson, Emmalena Fredriksson, Ailsa Mcfadyen, Jessica Keeling and Seamus Leahy.
This event is being held on the unceded, shared traditional territories of Penelakut, Lamalcha, Hwitslum and other Hul’qumi’num and SENĆOŦEN speaking peoples, Coast Salish Peoples of Galiano, as well as the ceded territories of Tsawwassen First Nation, on what is now known as Galiano Island. We are grateful for the generosity of CRD Arts & Culture and BC Arts Council.
